This is a photo from billet planting, the field was planted on 4th May, the photo is from 27th June. In spite of very dry conditions and only mechanical weed control the result is very good.
The photo is from a Lithuanian field of poplar which was planted with the Billet method in 2015. The result is so good that HSAB now is preparing for larger scale billet planting of poplar for next year. Billet planting significantly reduces the cost of establishment, in poplar as well as in willow.
